Duterte gets a high 8 grade from Ilonggos

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte gets a high grade of 8 from the Ilonggos, especially from the militants, as the President celebrates his first 100 days in the highest office of the country this week.

Bayan Muna gives a high mark to the President on a scale of 1-10 performance rating due to the President’s effort in realizing a real and true peace talks currently being conducted in Oslo, Norway between the government peace negotiators and panel representing the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.

Reyland Vergara of Bayan Panay said no other past and living Philippine Presidents got a high public satisfaction rating of 76 percent than Duterte.

The recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) ratings of past Presidents in their first 100 day in office from Ramos to Duterte showed that Fidel Ramos got 70 percent, Joseph Estrada with 69 percent, Gloria Arroyo with 42 percent, and Benigno Aquino III with 71 percent.

Duterte rated himself with a modest grade of 6 performance rating in the first three months of his administration. But Vergara said this is understandable since the President has only started pursuing his six months honeymoon with the people in eradicating illegal drugs in the country.

The President is also asking the people another six months extension to totally eradicate illegal drug traffickers, pushers, users and drug protectors.

Sidewalk vendor Celso Jereos said Duterte must be supported in his vow to clean the country of illegal drugs and corruption. A hundred days is a short period and must be extended if the country wants a free and safe citizenry and community.

However, Boboy Sombero of City Hall said that Duterte failed in his target performance especially in good governance, economy, health, education, and social services.

The President needs all the support and cooperation of all the people including those belonging to the opposite political camp in order for the country to grow and flourish.

Media broadcaster Joel Franco said he saw in Duterte the strong determination to succeed in his mission on illegal drugs but he cannot do this alone. He needs all the support of the Filipinos and even the cooperation of other countries in order to succeed in his mission for his people.
