Kris Aquino is back, shows 'diamond' necklace in question

QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino made her first public appearance on Tuesday, October 11, since she took a break in June and brought the "diamond" necklace she was accused of borrowing from the sequestered jewelry collection of former first lady Imelda Marcos.

The television host surprised many at the Ariel's "Wash Your Fears Summit" Tuesday afternoon in Makati City when she addressed the recent issue linked to her name.

While discussing the fears women have, the Queen of Talk shares that she is afraid that by keeping mum, people will eventually believe all the lies spread about her.

"When you allow lies to continue, they become truths. My fear was if you continue ignoring something because you thought it is senseless and baseless, for some people it might come out as baka totoo. Tigilan na ako," she said.

Aquino added: "My stylist said, 'Please don't hindi bagay sa suot mo'. But I just want everyone to see it to put the issue to rest. I feel when the truth is on your side, it's easy to discuss anything."

She then went to explain that when the Marcoses were thrown out of MalacaƱang, her family was initially not allowed to enter the official residence of the first family. So, there's no way for her to get hold of the jewelries.

"The last thing my family could do is to steal someone's jewelry. Nainis ako dito because it is putting into question my mom's memory," she said.

To recall, Aquino addressed the issue during the weekend and clarified that the necklace she wore at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) dinner last November was bought from her hard-earned money.

She said that the jewelry in question was actually made of cubic zirconia and silver, not real diamonds.

"I paid for them with hard earned, tax paid income, and hindi ko na problema kung yung pagnanakaw ng iba trip nilang ibintang/pagtakpan using me," she wrote in an Instagram post.

Aquino said she hopes that by clarifying the issue, people would stop speculating on the source of the necklace. (Sunnex)
