2 drug personalities shot dead in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- Two drug personalities in the watchlist were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in separate shooting incidents recorded by the police in Binmaley and Sta. Barbara towns on October 10.

The first victim, Alfredo "Dong" Felix Castro, was shot dead in Barangay Baybay Lopez, Binmaley, by riding-in-tandem gunmen around 5:45 p.m. of October 10.

Castro was identified as being included in the Philippine National Police Baseline Drug Watchlist and a long-time drug pusher and user.

Investigation showed that he was sitting near a sari-sari store and talking to another person when shot by the gunmen.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) did not recover any fired cartridge or empty shell from the crime scene.

In Sta. Barbara, another drug personality was shot dead in Sitio Bliss in Barangay Balingueo around 5:30 p.m. of October 10.

The victim was identified as Domingo Quilopas Flores, 49, who was on board his motorized tricycle after conveying his passengers in Barangay Balingueo when he was tailed and shot by motorcycle-riding criminals.

Flores was identified by the police as among the Street Level Target (SLT) drug personalities in Sta. Barbara.

The victim was rushed to the Mapandan District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Four empty shells believed to be fired from a caliber 9mm. pistol were recovered from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, a man was shot and wounded also by motorcycle-riding gunmen around 11:25 a.m. of October 10 in Barangay Ketegan, Bautista.

The victim, Diomedes Caberto, 56, farmer, was on board his own Yamaha motorcycle when shot several times by two armed men wearing face masks and riding in another motorcycle.

Despite his gunshot wound on the left arm and left knee, Caberto managed to maneuver and turn back his motorcycle but fell down on a road in front of the Bauista Central School in Barangay Nandacan, Bautista.

The victim was first brought to the Bayambang District Hospital before he was transferred to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan. (PNA)
