Sara still works despite high-risk pregnancy

CONSIDERING her sensitive condition, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio admitted Tuesday, October 11, that she is having health issues regarding her pregnancy but she still continues to do her job.

"It's an uphill journey sa isa ko pang baby, but so far, okay naman except lang na may mga health issues and problems that affects the baby," Duterte said.

The city mayor earlier announced that she had a fetal demise where she lost two of her triplets.

"I am not attending public events but I'm continuing my work," Duterte-Carpio added.

The city mayor said that her doctors recommended her to take healthy food for her healthy pregnancy and to have balanced diet to ensure the safety of her baby.

"I have health issues.. not really good pero I have medicines and I'm taking it day by day," Duterte-Carpio said.

Meanwhile, despite the recommendation not to attend public gatherings, Duterte still graced the 40th day of the Davao blast wherein she also led the unveiling of the memorial marker of the deadly explosion that claimed 15 lives and left 69 others injured.

"The tree symbolizes the victims, our brothers who passed away because of the terror attack," the city mayor explained.

Duterte-Carpio also revealed she conceptualized the design although they asked for a consultant for the gardening to come up with this.

"We wanted a marker na labored so that we will never forget what happened. So pag living plants ang nilagay diyan, every day, we take care of it, we'll always remember what happened, so we will always be vigilant and help each other prevent another senseless attack," Duterte said.

Duterte-Carpio clarified the significance of the three layers which means that the first symbolizes the man, the second is earth, and then the third one is heaven.
