Man linked to drugs shot dead in own house

A PERSON involved in illegal drugs was killed by unidentified men while one was arrested in a police operation in Mandaue City last Wednesday night.

Amado Colina, 44, was shot while he was watching television in his house at 9:15 p.m. in Sitio Nawanaw, Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

SPO1 Michael Limalima of Mandaue Police Station 2 said Colina was allegedly known as a drug user.

Limalima said Colina was asked to surrender during a police Tokhang operation, but he did not heed.

The victim was included in the drug watch list of the barangay.

In the initial investigation, the suspects, who were on a violet motorcycle, stopped at the victim’s house.

One of the culprits, who served as the backrider, got inside the house, approached Colina and shot him.

Limalima said the gunman was wearing a full face helmet and a black jacket.

After the incident, the suspects fled.

An empty and a deformed slug of an unknown caliber was found in the crime scene.

This is the third time that persons allegedly involved in illegal drugs were killed inside their house by unidentified gunmen on motorcycle.

Canduman

Last Wednesday, Rodelito Miao, 38, was killed while sleeping together with his family inside their house in Sitio Ibabao Sunflower Dos, Barangay Canduman.

In Barangay Banilad, Teotimo Cormanes Jr., 44, was shot while watching television in his home in Sitio Vito P. Remedio last October 7.

Also on Wednesday, members of Mandaue Police Station 6 arrested Eleunito Bihag Lopez, 35, after a search warrant was served to him past 11 p.m. in Purok 5, Barangay Cubacub.

SPO2 Herbert Pelagio of Police Station 6 said Lopez, cousin of Cubacub Barangay Captain Almario Bihag, was listed top 2 in their station’s drug watch list.

Lopez surrendered last July 11, but he returned selling and using illegal drugs, according to Pelagio.

During the operation, police seized eight sachets and a medium pack of illegal drugs worth P13,000 from Lopez.

The suspect was detained at Police Station 2 holding cell.

Tabuelan

The Police arrested two suspected drug personalities in separate buy-busts in the towns of Borbon and Tabuelan last Wednesday.

From July 1 until 6 a.m. yesterday, the units under Police Regional Office 7 have conducted 29, 274 operations.

The operatives arrested 28,234 suspected drug personalities, while 1,573 were killed during shootouts.

In Barangay Tabunan, Borbon, operatives of the Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (Maidsotg) collared Naddee Baton Sollano at 1:50 p.m.

PO3 Roy Hortelano, who pretended he was a junkie, approached the suspect who was in the waiting shed.

The police officer and a civilian asset approached Sollano. They asked the suspected drug pusher if they can buy a sachet of shabu from him.

Sollano then allegedly got a sachet of white crystals believed to be shabu tucked in his waistline. After paying P500, the operatives arrested the suspect.

At 8:40 p.m., anti-narcotics operatives captured Melchorito Gallardo in Barangay Bangasawe, Tuburan.

The team led by Tuburan Police Chief Rolan Aliser seized nine sachets of suspected shabu from Gallardo.

The seized evidences were turned over to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office for examination. The operations were coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7.

Complaints for violating Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects before the prosecutor’s office.

Selling shabu and other illegal substances is a non-bailable offense.
