Blast case panel seeks time to resolve case

THE panel of city prosecutors assigned to resolve the Roxas Night Market blast case is seeking for extension in releasing its resolution on the case.

Prosecutor Jay Karel Sanchez, in a text message to SunStar Davao Thursday afternoon, October 13, said they need more time for the resolution of the case due to the added information about the Roxas Night Market Bombing.

"We need more time to resolve the complaint because of the arrest of the three individuals by the Armed Forces of the Philippines," Sanchez said.

Last October 7, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana presented before the media bombing suspects namely, TJ Tagadaya Makabalang, Wendel Facturan and Musali Mustapha, who are currently detained at Camp Crame.

Sanchez also said they have not received any complaint against the three named individuals and this is the very issue they are considering and weighing before they can make the final resolution.

The prosecutor said the four-man panel, which is jointly made for the expeditious resolution of the case, is set to meet today in line with the ongoing preliminary investigation.

The City Prosecutor's Office earlier assured that it will resolve the case in two to three weeks to indict and file charges against one indentified suspect, five John Does, and three Jane Does tagged in the blast.
