Davao police drug bust operations increased

DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) conducts drug bust operations daily, thus, number of persons arrested are growing.

DCPO conducts more operations in an effort to eradicate illegal drugs in Davao City.

DCPO spokesperson Senior Inspector Catherine dela Rey, in an interview, said the Philippine National Police's Oplan Double Barrel operation has been effective.

"Everyday, there's an increase ng mga taong nahuhuli dahil sa patuloy ang ating buy-bust operations," Dela Rey said.

From October 13 this year, Sta. Ana Police Station administered 72 drug bust operations that yielded 105 and killed six in the process.

Talomo Police Station, on the other hand, reported 39 drug bust operations since early October. The station detained 47.

Sasa Police Station conducted 30 operations capturing 61 men.

"May mga hindi pa talaga huminto sa ilegal drugs kaya ito ang tinutukan natin ngayon sa ating second phase sa Oplan Double Barrel," dela Rey bared.

Since July 1 until October 14 this year, the 12 stations under DCPO recorded 241 drug bust operations, 38 were neutralized and 338 were caught.

In a previous report, the police recorded 9,327 men who voluntarily submitted themselves for reformation. (Jeepy P. Compio)
