Surrenderer shot dead in Sudlon

A DRUG surrenderer was gunned down by four unidentified men in Barangay Sudlon 2 last Sunday dawn.

Police identified the victim as Ronald Tundaan, 32, who came from Sitio Tabla, Barangay Sudlon 1 and was also in the drugs watchlist at the Pardo Police Station.

When the victim was placed under surveillance, authorities found that he went back to selling drugs in the area.

In an initial investigation by the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), an informant told the police that he saw Tundaan on a motorcycle with two others around 2:40 a.m. last Sunday.

Four men on two separate motorcycles were following the one with the victim on.

A few minutes later, residents in the area heard several gunshots, but they were afraid to come up.

At 6 a.m., a barangay tanod responded and found the victim lying in a grassy lot beside the road.

He succumbed to two gunshot wounds, one on his left shoulder and the other on his neck.

Recovered from the scene was an empty shell fired from a caliber .45.

The Pardo Police Station said that Tundaan submitted himself to their station’s Oplan Tokhang, but they received reports through text that he still operated the illegal drugs business in the barangay.

In the latest figures released by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, cases that were categorized as “deaths under investigation” have reached more than 200 in Central Visayas.

The police said some of the deaths were identified as fellow drug pushers killing each other to throw off the police.
