Catholic groups to hold prayer rally

CATHOLIC groups in Davao City are set to hold the second Catchfire Prayer rally in a bid to create a platform for national healing and unity for the country on November 20 at the Philippine Women's College (PWC) in Matina, Davao City.

Catholic groups from different parishes and barangays will gather to unite in prayer for the national healing and unity on the feast of Christ the King.

"We are expecting them to attend basically for national healing and unity prayer," Southeastern Mindanao Regional Coordinator of Couples for Christ Noel Dacalos said Monday during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at The Annex of SM City Davao.

For this event, they are looking forward for at least 2,000 participants to join the event, an annual gathering of lay catholic communities spearheaded by Couples for Christ (CFC), Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), Holy Trinity Community (HTC), and the Familia Ministries while other Catholic and Christian groups are expected to attend.

According Dacalos, the activities include sharing of faith experiences, music, worship and holy mass. He also bared the theme for this year dubbed as "ALL for the KING! Recognizing Christ supremacy over all our divisions, hurts and pains."

He added that as members of Catholic renewal communities, these activities aim to bring people to a deeper experience of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives.

They will also feature healing sessions where community members invite all those who will seek spiritual healing for attendees with physical ailments and other emotional pains. (JCR)
