Pink party with Miss Earth 2016 candidates

PRETTY in pink, 84 beauties of the Miss Earth 2016 walked the ramp in pink to show their support to Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao’s breast cancer awareness campaign.

Dubbed as “The Pink Party with Miss Earth 2016,” which was held last October 13 at the Garden Pavilion, the event served as the welcoming party for the delegates.

To celebrate the triumph of empowered women and to honor the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao with the support of The Rotary Club of Downtown Davao, has organized the beneficiary event to primarily raise awareness and resources for the pink campaign.

A ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement between the hotel and the organization was witnessed by guests during the event.

In his words of welcome, hotel manager Bryan Yves Lasala said that he is proud to say that Waterfront is at the forefront of the city’s hospitality industry in joining the rest of the world in this drive against breast cancer.

The hotel is offering signature pink promotions in rooms and dining called “Pink Matters” which is a month-long initiative that is symbolized by a logo of a turtle with the pink ribbon-the international symbol of breast cancer awareness.

In many cultures, the turtle is a symbol of endurance and persistence. It indicates longevity and the continuation of life, sometimes against incredible odds. It is with this reason that this was chosen as the signature emblem for the campaign that they intend to continue in the years to come. The Management believes that not only do these initiatives bring hope and healing, but more importantly, they also represent the goodness of people and businesses that publicly support the breast cancer movement.

rThe event featured a big production number of over 90 dancers from the Sta. Ana National High School Performing Arts Guild and the Sining Tala Dance Company.

rThe lovely ladies who are vying for the crown each had their share of the limelight as they proudly introduced themselves and the country they represent.

Also present in the pink affair was Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo, Carousel Productions’ Executive Vice President Lorraine Schuck and reigning beauty queens Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and Miss Earth Air 2015 Dayanna Grageda. The party closed with manic beats from Davao’s prime DJs Torch Gacuma and Mike Mayer.

Sponsors include Ad and Promo Management, Asia Brewery, Tanduay Distillers Inc., Pascual Creamy Delight, Chowking, The Grid at The Alley, Unilever, Amarelo Farms Davao, 116 Marketing Ventures Corporation, Cameo and Rich Jullian Events. (PR)
