POLICE arrested a suspected drug courier and seized some P113,000 worth of illegal drugs following a sting operation in Barangay 35, Cagayan de Oro City, Tuesday afternoon, October 18.
Senior Inspector Julius Saluta, Police Station 2 deputy chief, identified the drug suspect as 19-year-old Nasif Boncaros, a resident of Payawan, Balo-i, Lanao del Norte.
Authorities believed the suspect has been supplying illegal drugs in the said village.
The suspect said he has been making more money delivering illegal drugs compared to farming in his hometown.
The suspect added his source is only identified as "Inday".
Police said the suspect may be considered as high valued target after they confiscated methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu weighing about 50 grams.
Confiscated from the suspect's possession were the 10 pieces of big and small sachets of shabu and the P500 drug bust money.
The suspect did not resist arrest and was immediately brought to the police station and will be criminally charged for violations of the Dangerous Drugs Act and the seized items have been forwarded to the crime laboratory for examination.
Meanwhile, police investigators of Police Station 8 in Lumbia village are gathering leads on a shooting incident that injured a 50-year-old man identified as Tito Nacalaban in Tignapoloan village, this city, Tuesday night.
Senior Inspector Dennis Ebsolo, Police Station 8 chief, said the victim sustained a lone gunshot wound a the face from an undetermined firearm.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was discharged shortly.
Ebsolo said they are still going after the unknown assailant.
"We are still conducting investigation kay we received report nga naunay ra daw," Ebsolo said.
