Firm breaks ground for P2-B residential project today

PROPERTY giant Megaworld Corp., through its wholly-owned subsidiary Suntrust Properties Inc., will ground break its P2- billion residential project in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City today.

The 24.52-hectare mid-cost residential project called The Fountain Grove forms part of the 53-hectare Northill Gateway, a township development that will soon rise along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road, bordering the cities of Talisay and Bacolod.

It features four modern-designed house models namely Ashlyn, Brielle, Charlotte, and Dalton. The groundbreaking signals the start of construction of these model houses.

Attending this morning’s rites are Suntrust Properties executives headed by President Harrison Paltongan, First Vice President Jerry Rubis, and Vice President for Operations Sonny Berdin Jr. along with Talisay city and barangay officials led by Mayor Nilo Jesus Antonio “Neil” Lizares III.

The groundbreaking of The Fountain Grove was held last March.

Paltongan had earlier said the project is mostly a residential component that would be home to elegant yet affordable housing units.

Aside from The Fountain Grove, the Northill Gateway also includes the development of the 15-hectare Forbes Hill, a bigger residential project, and another 7.5-hectare commercial center.

The Fountain Grove has four phases namely Bellagio, Trevi, Tivoli and Montjuic, and will feature first-class amenities, including a multi-purpose hall, basketball court, park and playground, clubhouse, pools, and wedding pavilion with cabanas.

The initial investment of P2 billion covers the land development and construction of other amenities.

The land development works was awarded to Bacolod-based Wilkinson Construction Company and its completion is targeted within this year.

Moreover, the project may create employment opportunities to about 45,000 for the construction of almost 1,500 houses only, on top of the thousands of jobs for the land development phase, Paltongan added.
