Fake CIDG busted during a drinking spree

A FAKE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) agent was collared by authorities after threatening customers in a bar along KM. 4 in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Police collared Clifford Comelet Buagan of Sabangan, Mt. Province after introducing himself as a CIDG agent during a confrontation.

Investigation revealed the group of Richard Tingco, and the group of the suspect were drinking in a separate table inside the bar when suddenly a misunderstanding ensued.

During the confrontation, the suspect introduced himself as a member of CIDG and threatened the victim saying “Intel ak CIDG kayat mo ta paltogan ka, kayat mo ta ilugan da ka, ta gaburan da ka ti carton.”

Tingco then alarmed authorities which led to the arrest of the suspect.

Following Buagan’s arrest, Insp. Francis Colas, Chief Investigator of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station reminded the public usurpation is a violation and anyone caught will be punished by law.

"People can identify the personnel of the Philippine National Police through their uniforms and their Identification Cards if they introduce themselves properly," he added.
