FOR the very first time, the region’s premier shopping and lifestyle destination hosted the visit of an international beauty pageant last Monday, October 17, in support of Davao’s tourism industry.
SM Lanang Premier, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, staged a grand welcome event for the candidates of Miss Earth 2016, which raises awareness on environmental protection.
Almost 32 stunning contenders from around the globe graced the occasion.
Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and Miss Earth Air also joined the delegation.
SM Lanang Premier Mall administration headed by Assistant Mall Manager Mr. JunjieCrisante and Group Marketing Manager Mr. Aaron Dalaza warmly welcomed the guests.
Mall-goers had the rare opportunity to witness Miss Earth 2016 candidates as they introduced themselves one by one at the event held at The Atrium.
They also grabbed the chance to have their photos taken with the beauties of various nationalities.
“As the premier shopping and lifestyle destination here in Davao, we are committed to supporting the tourism industry of this city. Thus, this activity is our way of pushing for tourism in Davao and the rest of the Southern Philippines,” Mr. Crisante said.
During the visit, candidates stopped by at The Fountain Court grounds and enjoyed loads of shopping fun at Kultura Filipino and The SM Store Lanang. They also received pearl accessories from Kultura.
The SM Store Lanang, meanwhile, treated Miss Earth candidates with freebies from SM Accessories and provided them with SM gift certificates to shop at the store.
