8990 is No. 1 Mindanao developer

MASS housing property giant 8990 Housing Development Corporation was feted as No. 1 Developer in terms of take-out value from January to June 2016 during last Wednesday's 2016 Mindanao Developers Forum organized by Pag-Ibig Fund at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.

Januario Jesus Gregorio B. Atencio III, president and CEO of publicly-listed 8990 Holdings Inc., received the plaque of recognition and a token from Pag-Ibig Fund HLO-Visayas/Mindanao Group vice president Fermin A. Sta Teresa Jr. and Pag-Ibig Fund Home Lending Operations Cluster deputy chief executive officer Acmad Rizadly B. Moti during the awarding ceremonies.

Atencio was accompanied by 8990 HDC Davao general manager Mary Ann T. Chua and assistant general manager Juliet B. Domingo in receiving the award.

"No words to describe my happiness. This is a team effort with Mary Ann and Juliet at the helm for Mindanao," Atencio said in an interview with SunStar Davao as he was pertaining to Chua and Domingo.

8990 is owner of the Deca Homes brand. The company has ongoing projects in Davao City including Deca Homes Catalunan Grande, Deca Homes Indangan and Deca Homes Resort Residences.

The rest of the top 10 developers were Johndorf Ventures Corporation (Davao/Cagayan de Oro/Iligan/Butuan), Agian Land (General Santos City branch), Liberty Land Corporation (CDO branch), VCDO Realty Corporation (Butuan Cagayan de Oro), Gensan VSM Realty Corporation (General Santos City), Jukens Builders and Trade (Cagayan de Oro, Davao Joyful Homes Realty Corporation (Davao), Moderno Citihomes Development Corporation (Davao) and Argusland Inc. (Cagayan de Oro).

Also cited were best in performing accounts ratio: liberty Land Corporation (99 percent, Cagayan de Oro), Johndorf Ventures Corporation (98 percent, Davao) and Davao Joyful Homes Realty Corporation (98 percent, Davao).

John Rain Ventures Co., for its part, was named best conversion performance ratio (100 percent) while developers who continuously deliver accounts with Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) were Jhondorf Ventures Corporation, Kisan Lu Lands Inc./Kisan Lu Realty and Primeland Properties Inc./Fortune Ventures Development Corporation.

Jhondorf's Iligan branch had been delivering accounts to HDMF since 1992, while Kisan Lu Lands' Davao branch since 1995 and Primeland Properties Inc.'s Davao branch since 1995.

Meanwhile, the Gensan VSM Realty Corporation (General Santos) also received a loyalty award for "continuously delivering all accounts with HDMF for the longest time."
