Davao engineer's office monitors DCWD, DPWH works

THE Davao City Engineer's Office (CEO) is already monitoring the ongoing infrastructure and road projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Davao City Water District (DCWD).

CEO head Joseph Dominic Felizarta said the office has identified five men from the Maintenance Division who will do the round and check whether the hired contractors and personnel of the DPWH and DCWD are working.

"In addition to their existing functions, they would have to monitor the projects of the DPWH and DCWD, including the projects of the city, para mabilis matapos itong projects na naging dahilan ng sobrang traffic," Felizarta said.

Felizarta said the monitoring is also to ensure the contractors are using early warning device and other safety measures while doing their job.

Felizarta added that there are reports of some minor accidents that did not reach to their office.

Felizarta said the DPWH and DCWD were also instructed to submit their completion reports every month to the CEO.

The office will make the assessment and forward the reports to the City Mayor's Office.

The DPWH and the DCWD have targeted the completion of their infrastructure and road projects by October and November 2016.
