THE Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) has alerted all local government units (LGUs) on Oplan Undas from Monday to Tuesday as part of the observance of the All Saints’ Day.
PDMPD chief Zeaphard Caelian said they are closely coordinating with the towns and cities which are on the ground operations.
“We advise the LGUs through their respective local disaster management councils to closely monitor their respective areas and give assistance especially to the travelers as we expect everyone to go to the cemeteries,” Caelian said.
He added that LGUs usually assign disaster management personnel to cemeteries aside from the presence of the police and contingent from the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Land Transportation Office.
Caelian also said that LGUs are on alert on major roads especially that the milling season has started and trucks loaded with canes are plying the major roads.
Meanwhile, Caelian said the PDMPD expects the LGUs to immediately furnish their office official reports on flooding especially during the rainy season.
He noted that the municipal government of E.B. Magalona has yet to submit their official report on the flash floods in some areas in the town last week.
