Cop asset shot dead in Lapu

A MEMBER of the City of Lapu-Lapu Auxiliary Force (Claf) was killed by two men on a motorcycle in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City on All Saints’ Day.

Roldan Fuentes, 33, was sitting while charging his cellphone at the old terminal on M. L. Quezon Highway when the suspects came and shot him several times past 3:30 p.m last Tuesday.

Senior Supt. Rommel Cabagnot, director of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), said the suspects were wearing bonnets.

Fuentes was a member of Claf, a group of volunteers in the different barangays in the city that help in monitoring illegal activities in Lapu-Lapu City.

Cabagnot said Fuentes had a case related to illegal drugs in 2009 for he was allegedly a pusher and a user.

This is one of the possible motives that the police are looking at.

The LCPO has been doing a background check on the 190 members of Claf.

Sa among monitoring padayon gihapon...Lately, wa na siya magpusher pero nigamit gihapon (Based on our monitoring, Fuentes continued his old ways. Lately, he was no longer peddling, but he was still using illegal drugs),” Cabagnot said.

The victim did not surrender to the police.

Injury

Fuentes suffered gunshot wounds in his nape, right arm and face, causing his death.

The police recovered five cartridges and a fired bullet from a .45 pistol.

The victim’s body was brought to Surelife Funeral Homes and will undergo an autopsy examination.

LCPO was still conducting follow-up operations for the possible arrest of the suspects.
