Lady Eagles annex first volley victory

THE Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles wowed Davao City fans as they spanked Ateneo de Naga University 25-6, 25-10, 25-8, at the start of the Jesuit Athletic Meet (JAM) 2016 Women's College Volleyball Tournament held at the Martin Hall of Ateneo de Davao University Jacinto Saturday, November 5.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) team unleashed its killer instinct, hitting power spikes and service aces that Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) failed to counter most of the time.

It was a lopsided win for the Lady Eagles but ADNU players were applauded after the game for showing great sportsmanship. Fans then rushed to the court to have picture with the ADMU stars.

The Lady Eagles, bannered by Katrina Mae Tolentino, Gizelle Jessica Tan, Julianne Marie Samonte, Michelle Kathreen Morente, Deanna Izabelle Wong, Jamie Isabelle Lavitoria, Jenelle Marie Lo, Bettina Andrea Abella, Isabel Beatriz De Leon, Pauline Marie Gaston, Kassandra Miren Gequillana, Ana Laureen Gopico, Jhoanna Louisse Maraguinot and Julia Melissa Morado, eye to win more matches.

ADMU head coach Anusorn "Tai" Bundit, in an interview with SunStar Davao, said they are happy to play against different schools in Davao.

In another match, host ADDU Lady Blue Knights outclassed Xavier University 25-11, 25-14, 25-21. (ABM)
