Adopt a pet for Christmas

CHRISTMAS is coming! Yes, it’s that time of the year again where one reunites with his far relatives and feast together till their mouths’ content. It’s that time when one celebrates with the people he loves and comes back to his sweet home. But wouldn’t it be great when one comes home with cute and cuddly pets waiting for him?

Wouldn’t it be for the best knowing that one has actually given these loyal and friendly pets another chance to have a forever home?

Wild Rescue Crew, a member of the International Rescue Community, has been conducting adoption events for a year now. Since October of last year, they have been giving homes to abandoned and abused dogs and cats by organizing events supported by individuals giving cash donations and free venues.

Imannuel Wild, the founder of Wild Rescue Crew, with his wife, April, has been a witness to the rampant abuses of animals in the city and decided to start the cause of saving their lives.

The pets they take care of were already subject to mercy killing from the Cebu City Pound when they were saved. Some were also rescued from the streets of our very own city and were victims of animal abuse.

From Aspins, crossbreeds, half breeds to pure breeds like shitzus, these dogs and cats deserve a home.

Now, the greatest question would be, how can one adopt a pet? One can adopt right on the spot. Wild Rescue Crew will be at Times Square Talamban on Nov. 26 to accommodate pet and animal lovers alike. The adoption process is simple:

1. One must go to the venue on the designated date. No need for valid ID.

2. One will have to be assessed of his capability to adopt a pet through an interview.

3. Once everything is done, one can go home with his lovely pet.

The adoption itself is free and the only thing one has to pay for is the vaccination of the pet he is adopting. This is necessary to assure the Wild Rescue Crew that one is indeed financially capable to provide for his pet in case any future circumstance may occur. The Wild Rescue Crew is also open for cash donations, venue sponsors and volunteers.

Giving love has always been the spirit of Christmas and here’s a great opportunity to give love by giving these loving pets a home and saving them from animal abuse. (Contributed by Gerwayne Mae Chua)
