TWENTY-eight commissioned and non–commissioned police officers of Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were honored by the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) for displaying exemplary leadership during the onslaught of typhoon Lawin.

OCD–CAR regional director Andrew Alex Uy led the pinning during this morning’s Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Uy gave thanks and salute the police for a job well done and hopes the partnership of the PNP and his office will be sustained through the years so both organizations can infect others more with a deeper regard for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Medalya of Kasanayan were awarded to S/Supt. Alexander Tagum, acting provincial director of Abra Police Provincial Office, S/Supt Felix Dayag, acting provincial director of Apayao Police Provincial Office, S/Supt Ramil Saculles, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office and S/Supt Cornelio Comila, the provincial director of Mt. Province Police Provincial Office.

Their effective leadership in the preemptive evacuation, search and rescue operations and relief operations before, during and after typhoons in their provinces resulted in minimum damages and casualties.

Likewise, their preparation and immediate response resulted in the over-all success of the implementation of OPLAN SAKLOLO.

Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta (PNP Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Medal) were also awarded to all provincial directors and city director of PRO- COR. The battalion commander of the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) and the 10 national support unit directors received same medals.

Other recipients of the medals were SPO4 Solomon Palaypayon, SPO4 Jeremias Toyokan, SPO3 Emerson Lingbawan, PO3 They Amoy, and PO3 Junie Peter.

Their discipline, commitment, teamwork and outstanding performance during the onslaught of the super typhoons has lifted once again the image of the organization. They are worthy of emulation. (PRO-COR RPIO)
