3 payouts await Negros Occidental capitol employees

THE Provincial Government employees of Negros Occidental are expecting to receive three payouts this month.

Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., chair of Provincial Board committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways and means, on Tuesday, November 8, said they are now preparing for the release of the first tranche of the Salary Standardization 4 (SSL 4), 13th and 14th month pays, and the Christmas bonus.

"We are still waiting for the final computation from the Provincial Budget Office," Escalante said, as he assured that the Provincial Government has "enough budget for everything."

The Department of Budget and Management in Western Visayas is "leaving it to the province to work out the final determination of its personnel services and show proof that such indeed has not exceeded statutory PS limitations."

DBM-Western Visayas director Alfonso Bedonia Jr., in his letter to Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. dated October 18, said that it does not discount the possibility, that as the year progresses, "the province could generate PS savings by way of unfilled vacant positions, salary lapses due to retirement or resignation of personnel and other applicable measures - which taken together, can offset the excess over the PS limitation or may even result in having more fiscal headroom that would warrant the provision for additional PS cost such the implementation of the Modified Salary Schedule authorized under Executive Order No. 201."

Earlier, the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees has urged the Capitol officials to implement SSL 4 as ordered by EO 201 signed by former president Benigno Aquino III. (TDE)
