Veggie trader hacked to death

A VEGETABLE trader died after being hacked to death by her live-in partner in Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Authorities identified the victim as Evangeline Manggapac Solino, a vegetable trader and a native of Bauko, Mountain Province who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner who was identified as Crispin Olowan Bab-ating, 44, and a resident of Betag, La Trinidad.

Initial police investigation revealed the victim’s body was discovered by her daughter prompting her to immediately report to the police for investigation.

Police reported the victim was lying face down covered in a blanket with multiple hack wounds on the head while blood and parts of her brain was also found on the floor.

Recovered from the crime scene was a 54-centimeter bolo, which was under the victim’s bed.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to authorities and is now detained at the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station.
