DSWD cites Capitol’s P100,000 grants to elderly as ‘best practice’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga government’s provision of P100,000 incentives to 95 years old and above was recognized as among the nine awardees for the recently concluded Awarding of 2016 Central Luzon Regional Search for Best Practices given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Held at Walter Mart in this city, the theme for this year’s search is “Aktibong Pamahalaan at Mamamayan Tungo Sa Pagpapaunlad ng Bayan.”

Regional Director Gemma Gabuya said that community involvement and active people’s participation play an important role in the performance of best practices shown by the local government units.

The regional director urged the municipal links and the parent beneficiaries of Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to continue in helping the government officials in the implementation of the program for the benefit of the target beneficiaries.

The “Pera sa Basura” entry of Pulilan, Bulacan was adjudged as this year’s grand winner. The Pulilan local government unit was given plaque of appreciation plus P15,000 cash.

The awarding was attended by town mayors, municipal social welfare development officers (MSWDOs), municipal links, recipients of the 4Ps and other concerned groups. (Aida B. Bungue/Pampanga PIO)
