Espina: EATOF 2: Climbing Borobudur

OUR Eatof (East Asia Inter- Regional Tourism Forum) 2016 was not all work in bilateral or academic sessions. We had cultural shows (the artistic Ramayana, interlude in ballet and classical setting), fabulous dinners in batik ensemble and national costumes, tours and a bit of shopping in a T-shirt factory.

Climbing Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist monument, draws pilgrims from all over the globe. It’s a 95-foot-high “step pyramid, with some 500 Buddha statues perched around the temple.”

The physical and spiritual “climbing” brings you to the “Peak of the Borobudur Temple” where you reach the “Consummate Enlightenment.” A rare experience!

Tom n’ Toms

There is a new place to experience a new taste of coffee, tea or juice, with rare array of pastries!

It’s Tom N Toms on San Jose de la Montaña St.! We were there! Wholesome and clean ambiance, good parking and gracious service staff. Kudos to my “amiga,” Mayette Alba! We loved the tortilla or omellette pizza! And we intend to make the place our regular venue to drink, eat and meet friends!
