WE ALL go loco when it comes to shopping. Some can candle the rush while most fell in this so-called sweet trap.

Shopping, for most, is for all season but on holidays, it is but a universal truth that people spend more than usual.

Chimes: Life + Style

Being one of the pioneers who brought specialty lifestyle shopping concepts in the city, Chimes continues to evolve through the years by strengthening its position as the Shopping Mecca of Mindanao.

The shopping center launched its new look and flagship store last November 12 which is redefining the luxury retail experience in the city.

The flagship store is located in Governor Sales Street. Other Chimes boutiques are also located in Felcris Centrale and Abreeza Ayala Mall.

The store showcases over 100 of the world’s most desirable brands across ladies’ wear, men’s wear, beauty, children and home, many of which will be exclusive to Chimes Boutiques and will not be seen in mainstream malls.

Aldevinco Shopping Center

Being one of the oldest shopping centers in Davao City, it remains to be among the top destinations here especially for tourists who wanted to own products that are unique from Davao or Mindanao.

Located in Claro M. Recto Ave, Poblacion District, the center is an arts and crafts gallery of its own, showcasing the culture and heritage of the Mindanaoan.

This commercial complex presently houses over 100 shops offering shoppers genuine Mindanaoan products, antiques, and a wide array of colorful and creative souvenir items, perfect as pasalubong.

The 8,370-square meter-center, which was opened to the public on January 2, 1965 was designed by a Filipino Architect Roman Solitaria of Manila.

Davao Chinatown

The City’s Chinatown is the only Chinatown in Mindanao and the Philippines’ largest Chinatown by area with a total land area of 44 hectares.

Within it are shopping malls, hardware stores, restaurants, retail, and wholesale stores.

Affordable and cheap goods like fruits, vegetables, and dry goods are available in hundreds of small kiosks and stalls that are lining up the streets. Indeed, Davao Chinatown serves as the major hub of trade and business for all Chinese-Filipinos in the city.

With a number of centers here, shopaholics can satisfy their shopping itches. Davao City truly established itself as one of the country’s shopping dream destinations where one can find a wide array of shops that selling variety of items that suits one’s budget.
