EMPLOYEES of the Negros Occidental Provincial Government are expected to receive their salary increase and benefits next week.
This, after the Provincial Board unanimously approved the P87 million appropriation during their regular session Wednesday.
Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr., chairman of SP committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways and means, said the Provincial Human Resource Management Office (PHRMO) can now start processing the payroll, which includes the first tranche of the Salary Standardization Law 4 (SSL 4), the 14th month pay, and the P5,000 cash gift.
For the wage increase, which would be a retroactive pay for half of the year, the PHRMO will prepare the payroll for five months only since the increase for December can already be incorporated in the payroll next month, he said.
The monthly increase will depend on the employee’s salary grade.
The department heads, who have the highest salary grade, will receive a monthly increase of P11,000 while the entry-level employees will get P1,500 to P2,000 increase every month, he said.
Escalante said the budget will be sourced from the Capitol’s Personal Services savings this year.
He added that the Provincial Government has a substantial savings because of the almost 40 percent vacant positions.
“We have a budget for the 2,800 plantilla positions. Right now, 1,600 are filled. That’s why we have savings for PS every month,” he said.
