AN ESTIMATED P191,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in three separate drug bust operations in Negros Occidental on Sunday.
Chief Inspector Mark Anthony Darroca, chief of Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit (PAIDU), told Sun.Star Bacolod the first operation was conducted against Abdul Dimasangkay and his partner Jamela Bolanto at Ilagan Street, Barangay 6 in San Carlos City at about 6:40 a.m.
The couple, who hail from Lanao del Norte, sold shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P1,200.
They also yielded 12 sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P1,200 marked money.
The recovered illegal drugs has an estimated value of P90,000.
Darroca said the couple are considered newly-identified drug personalities and have been placed under surveillance since July.
Another couple were also arrested inside an inn in Barangay 6, also of the said city, at 7:30 p.m.
Police identified the suspects as Edna Sibuco and Gerryvil Oliveros, both of Barangay 3.
Police seized three sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P95,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.
The couple, along with Sibuco’s father, are under the city’s drugs watchlist.
Darroca said the operation against the couple came after Elmer Adolfo Jr. and Junwil Cumawas, both of Barangay Tigbao, Calatrava town , were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation.
The latter told police operatives that they get their supply of shabu from Sibuco and Oliveros.
Adolfo, nephew of the village chief, and Cumawas yielded three sachets of shabu worth P6,000.
Both are under the town’s drugs watchlist and reportedly supplies illegal drugs in Toboso town. Drug charges are being readied against the suspects.
