Chevrolet Oro celebrates 4th year of fruitful service

CHEVROLET, the world renown automobile brand and the current sponsor of one of the world’s biggest football club, Manchester United recently celebrated its fourth anniversary in Cagayan de Oro City with the launching of their latest vehicles, the 2017 Trailblazer and the 2017 Colorado.

The Trailblazer has a powerful 200 horse power engine that “takes riders and drivers farther than ever before, even in challenging weather, frustrating traffic and demanding road conditions,” said Chevrolet Cagayan de Oro general sales manager Rommel Tibudan during the celebrations and their Bankers night held at their service center, in Barangay Kauswagan.

“The 2017 Colorado on the other has also a 200 HP engine and can run in all terrain, up and down peaks and valleys. It can also brave any kind of weather, out in the open road and across rough roads,” he added.

Grandcars Inc. and Covenant Car Company of the Po family is the distributor of the Chevrolet in the city.

Chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) is Peter Po, president Jan Andrew Po, Comptroller Caroline Po, after sales director Ivan Herrick Po, and vice president for operations Lorenzo Aguilar II. They were also present during the celebration.

According to Tibudan, the Cagayan de Oro Chevrolet dealership office has grown by leaps since it was introduced in here in 2012. The office in the city is the second largest dealership in the country today.

“I thank the Cagayanons for embracing us. In our first year in 2013 we sold 172 vehicles, in 2014, 262 and in 2015 we delivered 365. This year we are positive to sell even more and hit our 1000 units target at the year-end despite of the unending competition in the market,” Tibudan said.

Tibudan also said Chevrolet has always been clear and focused on its vision, which is to create a winning edge in the highly competitive automobile industry.

“We aim to maximize the brand’s business potential, in pursuit to create a unique culture and establish a relentless customer-oriented dealer network in the Philippines and predictably making great strides in achieving this goal,” he said.

On November 3, 1911, Swiss race car driver and automotive engineer Louis Chevrolet co-founded the Chevrolet Motor Company in Detroit with William Durant and investment partners William Little (maker of the Little automobile), James Whiting,[6] Dr. Edwin Campbell (son-in-law of Durant) and in 1912 R. S. McLaughlin CEO of General Motors in Canada.

As of 2010, Chevrolet had operations in over 140 countries and global sales in 2011 set a record with 4.76 million vehicles sold worldwide.

Chevrolet's Philippine operations are under the control of The Covenant Car Company Inc.

The company was officially incorporated on July 1, 2009 and assumed business operations on October 1, 2009.

Nineteen dealerships have been established around the country as of 2012 including in Cagayan de Oro City.
