FOR its 25th anniversary, Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) Bacolod celebrated with a visit from its Executive Council of Servant Leaders for a Pastoral Visit and a Motivational Conference.
Bukas Loob sa Diyos is a community of disciples inspired by the Holy Spirit to be living witnesses in transformation with Christ to bring about a world of justice, human development, and true peace. It has been true to its mission of responding to our particular time, place, and culture.
For families: it is to evangelize families and to build communities through encounters, Life in the Spirit Seminars, and Discipleship Formation through personal and family prayer; pro-life values; Catholic social teachings and stewardship.
For communities: BLD strengthens itself through participation in the life and mission of the Church in accord with our God given gifts.
And for the country: working on poverty alleviation through scholarships, housing for the poor, and advocacies in life, environment and good government. The BYOP (Breaking The Yoke of Poverty) was established as a Scholarship of Hope.
BLD has been a strong Catholic community influence in the city since the time of its conception with its regular programs like the Marriage Encounter held twice a year; and the annual seminars, including the Family Encounter, The Life In the Spirit Seminar, the Solo Parents Encounter , Singles Encounter, Youth Encounter.
The community’s spiritual adviser is Fr. Naring de la Cruz while for the BLD Global Family its spiritual director is Archbishop Angel Lagdameo.
After 25 years, BLD has been tireless in enhancing and advancing its goals through its ministries and apostolates like: Formation: made up of Intercessory Ministry, Teaching Ministry and the Word Development Program; Evangelization: comprising the Praise Ministry, Word Development Ministry, Liturgical Services Apostolate; and Management: Treasury Ministry.
There are also Pastoral Ministries and Apostolates like Marriage Life Apostolate and Family Life Apostolate.
Many lives have been touched by the work of BLD in Bacolod as evidenced by the attendance of Global Family. The whole-day event was highlighted by a Eucharistic Celebration, talks by the Executive Council of Servant Leaders, and lots and lots of bonding among the members.
