RONNIE Dayan said Thursday that he ended his seven-year affair with his former boss and girlfriend Senator Leila de Lima after he learned about her new boyfriend.
Dayan, who is married since 1991, said his love affair with de Lima began in 2007, months after he started working for her as his driver and security aide.
He said in 2010, they started living together in de Lima’s house in Paranaque.
"Bago pumasok ‘yung 2015 nagkakalabuan na kami ni Ma’am [de Lima]. Kesyo hindi na daw kami masaya sa pagsasama namin, lagi kasing bangayan at laging nagaaway kami,” Dayan said in his affidavit, which he read in the resumption of House committee on justice's investigation on the proliferation of drugs in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
“Kaya nung nabalitaan ko na ‘yung isang hagad niya, na ang pangalan ay Warren Cristobal, ang bagong boyfriend niya, nasampal ko siya nang bahagya. Sabi ko uubusin mo yata kaming mga security mo,” he added.
Dayan said he rarely went to work after he knew about her relationship with another man. He said he stayed in Pangasinan to cool his head off.
He said days after, de Lima texted him asking him to go to Manila to sign some documents as he was continuously receiving salary despite not reporting for work.
"Tapos nu'ng pumunta na ako, resignation na. Sabi ko kay ma'am, 'Pinagre-resign mo na ako na parang nagpapalipas lang ako ng sama ng loob sa Pangasinan,'" he said.
Dayan said de Lima responded: “Nakakahiya kasi... at saka tama na rin ito para iwas gulo."
"Kung baga, pinuwersa niya akong mag-resign," Dayan said in his affidavit.
Pangasinan house
Dayan said in 2007, he and de Lima acquired a property in Pangasinan.
He said he used his savings of P800,000 and the money given to him by De Lima worth P2 million to build the property.
It was reported earlier that Dayan owns a property known as “white house” in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan.
Dayan, however, denied owning the white house and said that it was the orange house which is situated nearby that is theirs. (Sunnex)
