Son of retired policeman killed in 'shootout'

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas killed a suspected drug pusher, who is a son of a retired policeman, in an alleged shootout in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, at 3:10 a.m. Friday, November 25.

The suspect, Gener Rondina, 38, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the body after he resisted arrest from the operatives of Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG).

Gener is the son of retired Senior Police Officer 4 Generoso Rondina.

His sister Jocelyn Rondina escaped.

Jocelyn's live-in partner Rowell Villanueva, 47, and their son Francis Jhon, 22, were caught.

Seized from them were more than P200,000 worth of illegal drugs.

At 5:20 a.m., RAIDSOTG Central Visayas personnel caught Rowell Villanueva and confiscated more than P300,000 worth of illegal drugs. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
