Capitol allots P114M for employees’ pay hike, benefits

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Government has allocated P114.36 million for the salary increase and benefits of its employees this year.

Provincial Accountant Merle Fortu said Thursday, November 24, that the amount is intended for the first tranche of the Salary Standardization Law 4 (SSL 4), 13th and 14th month pays, and the P5,000 cash gift of the 2,773 Provincial Government workers this year.

Of the amount, P78.07 million was allocated for the 14th month pay, P18.54 million for salary differential, and P13.87 million for the cash gift.

Fortu said the payroll for the wage increase, which would be a retroactive pay for half of the year, is being processed, and is expected to be released next week.

Last November 16, the Provincial Board approved the P87-million appropriation for the salary increase, 14th month pay and cash gift, which will be sourced from the Capitol’s Personal Services savings this year.

The monthly salary increase of the employees is based on their respective salary grades.

The department heads, which have the highest salary grade, will receive a monthly increase of P11,000 while the entry-level employees will get P1,500 to P2,000 increase every month.
