HUNGDUAN, Ifugao -- All nine barangays of this municipality are drug-free thanks to the help of the community people and local officials.
This was disclosed by Hungduan acting Chief of Police Senior Inspector Rodolfo Fateg in an interview over Radyo Kiphodan 99.1 FM in Lagawe town.
Fateg said police conducted validation to all barangays in a bid to determine if there are still drug personalities. The barangay chairmen issued certification attesting to the absence of illegal drugs in their respective areas.
“This is the result of the harmonious working relationship of the police, municipal and barangay officials and the community. The people are bent on eradicating illegal drugs in the municipality,” Fateg added.
Fateg explained to sustain this good standing, personnel of Hungduan Municipal Police Station intensified their anti-illegal drug advocacy campaign to the various schools and barangays.
The acting COP enjoined the people of Hungduan to report any illegal drug user or pusher to help them achieve a fruitful and peaceful life with their families.
Meanwhile, the Ifugao Provincial Police Office reported in the Provincial Advisory Council meeting that there are 93 drug-free barangays in the province. (Marcelo Lighawon/PIA CAR)
