STATE owned John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC), a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), through its corporate social responsibility projects conducted an outreach program in barangays San Fernando and Gohang in Banaue, Ifugao.
San Fernando and Gohang two of the remote barangays in Banaue which can only be reached through steep narrow road from the main provincial road.
Due to their distance from the provincial capitol, these two barangays have limited access to health, education and social programs of the government.
Personnel from the JHMC traveled from Baguio City to Banaue to deliver the goods sourced out from various donors and patrons to the residents of the two barangays as well as to facilitate the medical and dental mission led by the Provincial and Municipal Health Office. The residents of the two barangays were given general check-up as well as free dental examination.
In addition, the JHMC distributed school supplies, books and slippers to the students of San Fernando and Gohang Elementary School. Mosquito nets and clothing were likewise handed-out to every household of the two barangays.

Cabuhat, JHMC OIC-Office of the President and CEO, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to spread its mission and vision in promoting environmental protection and stewardship in the Cordillera region. The JHMC in its commitment to public service and good governance continues to extend assistance to communities in need.
As the administrator of the John Hay Special Economic Zone, the JHMC remains faithful in its mission and continues to contribute to the country’s national economic growth.
Just recently, JHMC was also recognized by the town through Resolution No. 02 series of 2015fopr establishing a library in Barangay Pula.
In the survey conducted by the Community Based Management System (CBMS) Pula ranked below the average with regard to the number of educated professionals in the barangay. An evaluation of the performance of the students in their basic elementary school likewise yielded to a poor result.
The JHMC in response provided reading materials such as books, literature, and magazines to the community in order to enhance the quality of education in their public school as well as to increase the chances of the students to pursue higher education.
