BULUA National High School will host the first ever Pinay In Action (PIA) Bulua Fiesta Ladies Cup football tournament on December 3 to 4.
The tournament, which will be held at the Bulua National High School gym in the village of Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, is expected to attract various Futsal teams from the different public and private schools in the city.
Junieto Acub, tournament organizer and Bulua Strikers Football Club coach said that teams from Liceo University, Bulua National High School, Puerto National High School, PN Roa High School, Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS), Anhawon High School, Pagapat National High School, Lumbia National High School, and Kong Hua High School have already signed up to join the two-day tournament.
Trophies and medals will be at stake for the Girls 17 (born 1999 and after), Girls 14 (born 2002 and after) and Girls 12 (born 2004 and after).
Actub who is also a teacher at the Bulua, National High School, said the tournament is supposed to be for public school teams only in Cagayan de Oro city. But because of the lukewarm response from them, he decided to invite the private school teams.
They have also invited Cagayan de Oro’s top Futsal playing schools, Xavier University High School, Rosevale School, and St. Mary’s School but they have not received any feedback yet.
The tournament is sponsored by the PIA of former Senator and now Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano and co-sponsored by SunStar CdO Inc.
The tournament is also in honor of the patroness of Bulua, the Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
