Elderly woman killed, robbed in Bacolod City

AN ELDERLY woman was found dead in a house at Capitol Heights Phase 3, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City on Tuesday.

Police identified the fatality as Fortunata Delgado, 63, the caretaker of the house owned by her relative.

Senior Inspector John Ganzon, head of Police Station 4, said Delgado, who sustained head injuries, was found by her neighbors near the gate of the house around 9 p.m.

Investigation showed Delgado saw two unidentified male suspects inside the house.

She ran towards the gate and attempted to call for help, but she was hit by a hard object.

The robbers carted away the victim's wallet containing an undetermined amount, and a cellular phone.

The robbers climbed the fence and forcibly entered the living room, but no other valuables were missing inside the house based on the inventory, Ganzon said. (GYM)
