3 Cebuanos compete in Powerman Duathlon

THREE Cebuano duathletes are all set for the 2016 Powerman Duathlon at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga today.

The duathletes are Joland Olmilla of Mandaue City, Mischelle Gilbuena who hails from Bantayan Island, and Chobie Dueñas of Motor Ace Kawasaki Racing Team.

Gilbuena and Dueñas will be suiting up in the long distance, which will cover a 10-kilometer run 1, 60K bike and another 10K run. Olmilla, meanwhile, will be fielded in the short distance with a 5K run 1, 30K bike and 5K run 2 course.

“This is my fifth duathlon race. The last one, I placed seventh and I hope to have a better finish this time,” said Dueñas.

Olmilla, who recently joined the Omega Pro Team, placed third in last year’s short distance race. He prepared for three months for the race as he aims to get a better ranking this year. “Hopefully God will give me the strength and guidance so I can perform my best,” said Olmilla, a national duathlon team member.
