New set of MCIAA directors to take oath on Wednesday

PRIVATE sector individuals, including a member of the board of directors of Sun.Star Cebu Publishing Inc., will take oath as new appointees of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) next week.

Steve Dicdican will be appointed as the new general manager of MCIAA, replacing Engr. Nigel Paul Villarete.

Among the new directors of MCIAA who will serve as representatives from the private sector are Julius “Jayjay” Neri Jr., Atty. Joelito Alvarez and Annabel Pulvera-Page.

Neri is the president of Sun.Star Publishing Inc. He said this is an opportunity for him to help Cebu.

“I’ve never been into politics, so this is one way to serve Cebu,” Neri said.

Neri, together with Dicdican, Alvarez and Page, will take their oath of office on Wednesday.

Lawyer Jonathan Capanas, one of the current directors of MCIAA, said they welcome the new appointees for the MCIAA board of directors.

“We would welcome that if there are already new replacements for MCIAA officials,” Capanas said.

Capanas said they still continue to perform their duties while waiting for the new officials to assume their posts.

He said that he, other officials and the board secretary have already prepared for the turnover of responsibilities.
