Gunmen rob businesswoman

MOTORCYCLE-riding gunmen held up and robbed a businesswoman of P30,000 in cash in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Monday, December 12.

Zamboanga Sibugay Police Director Romulo Cleve Taboso identified the victim as Methodia Ursaiz, 62, a businesswoman, from Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Taboso said Ursaiz was held up and robbed around 12 noon Sunday along the National Highway in the village of Monching, Siay Zamboanga Sibugay.

Investigation showed Ursaiz had just disembarked from her vehicle when the two suspects on board a motorcycle arrived.

The back rider who was wearing jacket, baseball cap and shawl that covered his face disembarked and approached the victim and declared the hold-up.

The suspects fled toward the direction of Ipil town, bringing with them the victim’s sling bag containing more or less P30,000.
