A NEWLY born three – day – old boy was allegedly taken by a woman who disguised as a doctor Tuesday afternoon at the Benguet General Hospital.
La Trinidad Municipal Police Station chief C/Insp. Radino Belly said the boy is the fourth child of a couple from Buguias, Benguet while the suspect remains at large.
Based on the CCTV footage of the hospital, the suspect is wearing a doctor's laboratory gown and a face mask.
The child’s father said the suspect went to the OB Charity Ward and presented herself as Dr. Ramos and asked permission to take the child for weighing.
The sister of the victim’s mother insisted the father will accompany his son but the suspect insisted she will immediately return.
After waiting too long, members of the boy’s family went to the nurse station to follow up on the child’s return but was surprised to find out there is no Dr. Ramos on duty and nobody was assigned to take their child for weighing.
The couple immediately reported to the hospital management who referred them to the police.
As per press time, the case is still under investigation and witnesses were invited to the police station for facial sketch for the possible identification of the suspect.
The family now is appealing to the public to help them look for their child who is undergoing medication after he was infected with sepsis.
BeGH has yet to issue a statement on the incident including Carlo Maximus Security Agency assigned in the hospital.
