La Trinidad eyes new park

ANOTHER venue for park goers will be established along the stretch of Balili River at the Benguet State University compound in La Trinidad, Benguet.

“It will be a biking area, coffee shop lane and a park to be developed. This will be from the first bridge in Tabangaoen until the Balili Bridge,” said Mayor Romeo Salda.

Salda also revealed BSU President Feliciano Calora Jr. has allotted P200,000 for the project.

The mayor disclosed Benguet Representative Ronald Cosalan has also pledged his support.

“Cosalan recently requested the Department of Public Works and Highways to communicate with our office for the identification of the site, because, there is an initial amount of P20 million funding for a flood control project there,” Salda said.

Salda said the town council has created a resolution supporting the program while the DPWH and the Department of Tourism are already coordinating for the project’s implementation.
