Surrenderer in Danao City shot dead by 4 unidentified culprits

FOUR unidentified men shot a suspected drug pusher in Barangay Taboc Looc, Danao City last Saturday morning.

Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, the city police chief, identified the victim as Alvic Cuadras Tabla, who was reportedly an underling of suspected drug lord Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro.

Tabla was about to go inside the comfort room of his car supply store when he was attacked at 9:05 a.m. The culprits wore helmets and rode on a motorcycle.

Tabla succumbed to two gunshot wounds in the chest, three in the abdomen, one each in the left leg, right side of the face, below his chin, and right side of his waist.

Debt as motive

Batobalonos, in a phone interview, said they received a report that the victim failed to pay the P100,000 he owed to a drug lord.

The police official did not elaborate on the matter.

Batobalonos said the victim was on the list of drug personalities operating in the city.

Tabla surrendered to the police during Oplan Tokhang last July and promised not to engage in the illegal drug trade.

Investigators found 11 empty shells from a .45 pistol and four deformed slugs in the scene.

Last Friday night, an anti-narcotics team caught three suspected drug pushers and seized 34 grams of white crystals believed to be sabu worth more than P400,000 in a buy-bust in Barangay Madridejos, Alegria.

Operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Task Group arrested Norriel Borromeo, John Baxter Javierto and Jay Warren Ferolino.

Police also seized a homemade .45 pistol loaded with five bullets during the operation.
