Filipinos love Ed Sheeran

IN his first ever interview since going on a hiatus, musician Ed Sheeran revealed that his biggest market is the Philippines.

Sheeran debuted two of his new singles off his third album on BBC Radio 1. He confirmed that his new album is pronounced Divide, although it’s simply called ÷.

At one point, Sheeran shared that he had to make part of the album on a boat where a makeshift studio was made. The boat, called Queen Mary II, had staff mostly composed of Filipinos.

So Sheeran shared: “The biggest country… My biggest market in the world is the Philippines and every staff member on the boat was Filipino. So I just like had a wave of people come to my room every five minutes asking for selfies.”

“I spent the whole time taking pictures with Filipino people,” Sheeran laughed.

BBC Radio 1 played Castle on the Hill and Shape of You, two of Sheeran’s new tunes.
