Drug suspect under Bacolod City police watchlist falls

A DRUG personality under the watchlist of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) was arrested at Rizal Street, Barangay Zone 9 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Chief Inspector Dianne Grace Catedral, public information officer of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Negros Island Region, identified the suspect as Ricky Serenio, 34, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Joint operatives of Regional Operations Task Group (RSOTG) together with the Special Action Force (SAF) served an arrest warrant against Serenio for grave coercion issued by Judge Eduardo Sayson of Regional Trial Court Branch 54 in Bacolod City.

When the operatives arrived, Serenio held his partner hostage but the policemen restrained him around 6:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Serenio’s possession a .45 caliber pistol with magazine containing five live ammunition and a fragmentation grenade.

Serenio and his partner were involved in an abduction incident last August 28. Both reportedly kidnapped drug suspects Joem Villacojer and his partner Roselyn Destua when the latter made an illegal drug transaction with them.

P30,000 in drugs seized

Six persons were arrested while three others, who evaded arrest, yielded P30,000 worth of illegal drugs inside a suspected drug den at San Juan Tunga, Barangay 5 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Friday.

Alfredo Ocsimar, 55, Jordan Ferrer, 40, Reynald Apostol, 24, Joselito Jaluag, 29, Emiluna Rosales, 28, all of San Carlos City, and Jeven Catinggan, 28, of Jimalalud, Negros Oriental were caught holding a “pot session,” records of San Carlos City Station showed.

Police identified the target subjects as Rhona Egonia, Antonio Marabe, and Jobert Ocsimar, who were able to escape.

Operatives recovered from the drug den 10 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," drug paraphernalia, three cellular phones, and P200 cash.

In Escalante City, Jomar Pati-on, 32, of Sagay City was collared at Sitio Bug-as, Barangay Balintawak on Friday after police seized from him two sachets of "shabu," a cellular phone, and the P500 marked money.

In Kabankalan City, Lino Sablaon, 34, was arrested after he yielded an improvised tooter and a lighter inside a nipa hut at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Binicuil on Friday.
