Davao Board of Realtors office groundbreaking

THE Davao Board of Realtors’ Foundation Inc. (DBRFI) in Davao City held the groundbreaking for their office in Rizal St. Tuesday, January 10.

DBRFI President Hardinando Patnugot Jr., together with the other 200 members of the foundation, was glad that after many years of DBRFI being existent in Davao City, they finally have an office building where they could meet and conduct seminars.

The office will be a three-story building on a 200-square meter lot. The first floor will be a commercial space to be rented out. The second floor will be intended for the use of the members of the foundation. This is where conferences and seminars will be conducted. The third floor will be a function hall to be leased for seminar venues by other companies or organizations.

After the groundbreaking, Patnugot said they hope to have the building finished before the foundation’s 66th foundation anniversary on September 18.

Funds for the construction primarily came from the monetary resources that the broker, real-sales agent, appraiser, and consultant members had put together through the years.

“We are still accepting applications for membership [of the foundation]. We have a screening process for those who just passed the board exam. The applicant should also attend the general membership meeting of the organization for three consecutive meetings. After that we train and orient them so they would know the responsibilities and privileges of the members,” said Patnugot adding that for the first time this year, the foundation will also start accepting sales persons as applicants.

However, they should still be accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission.

This is made possible by the recent amendment of the foundation’s by-laws.

In line with having their own office building after envisioning it for 65 years, Patnugot said they consider this year as a “year of significance”.

They look forward to launching the building on their 66th anniversary opening new doors of opportunities for the foundation.
