ANGELES CITY -- A scholar studying at the City College of Angeles (CCA) bested over the weekend 18 other candidates for the title of Mutya ning Angeles 2015.
Mirjan Hipolito of Barangay Lourdes Sur is an incoming third year tourism student at the CCA and is a consistent President’s Lister and an academic scholar. She was also named Miss CCA two years ago.
Hipolito’s court is composed of Adrianne Camille Concepcion, who was crowned as Mutya ning Angeles Tourism 2015; first runner-up Charmie Lumapak; second runner-up Ma. Ellena Jose; third runner-up Joan Riz Peralta; and fourth runner-up Sheena Duya.
Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) head Dr. Richard Daenos said “The Mutya ning Angeles pageant is an opportunity for Angeleñas to showcase their beauty, talent, wit and charm. The said pageant serves as a training ground for bigger pageants set both in the national and international stages.”
For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said he hopes that the Mutya would continue to be a venue that recognizes deserving Angeleñas who wish to promote the city’s rich culture.
“We believe that young Angeleñas would manifest their great intent and love for the city by promoting it’s tourism, heritage and culture, while at the same time, displaying goodwill and social responsibility as role models and ambassadors,” he said.
The pageant, organized and spearheaded by the ACTO, in partnership with Beyond Essence Creative Group, gathered over a thousand people at the Grand Palazzo Royale during the coronation night.
Special awards of the pageant went to: Ariana Gaza for Best in Talent and Best Filipiniana, Duya for Best in Casual Wear, Zarah Joy Guevarra for Ms. Photogenic, Maria Christina Pingul for being named the Las Flores de las Angeles winner, Jose for Best in Swimwear and Ms. Friendship, People’s Choice Award for Peralta, and Best in Evening Gown for Adrianne Camille Concepcion.
Corporate awards include Ms. Fairness and Flawless and Ms. Lily’s Touch, awarded to Lumapak, Ms. C-Lium and Smart Texter’s Choice to Peralta, Ms. Sophie and Ms. Imerex to Hipolito, Ms. Hausland to Heidi Lyn Sanchez, and Ms. Ritemed, SM’s Choice and Ms. Fiesta Communities to Concepcion.
