BI nabs alien wanted for murder in US

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced Wednesday the arrest of a 28-year-old American fugitive wanted for murder and other serious offenses in the United States (US).

In a news release issued on Wednesday, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said their Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) had arrested on Tuesday, January 10, Yoshikoson Umeko Haddon in Subic, Zambales.

"US authorities have described him as a dangerous felon, thus his continued presence here poses a serious threat to public safety," Morente said in a statement.

The BI said the issuance of the arrest order against Haddon came after the US embassy informed the immigration bureau that Haddon's passport was already revoked, thus making him an undocumented alien.

Haddon – charged with capital murder, killing for hire and solicitation of adult to commit felony in a Virginia court in US – is now detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa while awaiting deportation.

Morente said he will be placed in the immigration blacklist to be prevented from returning to the Philippines. (Sunnex)
