WITH three categories on the line, Red Hiphop Dance Championships will stage its final battle on the 15th at the Baguio Convention Center.

Grades 7- 10 competitors in the high school category and the college level will vie for top honors with free registration.

The open category in the one day competition is pegged with registration of P500.

There will also be a 1 – on – 1 and Krump style battle for individuals with registration at P150.

Cash prizes will be at stake for the group categories

Champions get P15,000 while the first runner up receives P8,000 and P5,000 for second runner–up respectively.

Winners in the individual category bring home P1,500.

The event earlier held a preliminary show on December 10 at the SM City Atrium for the group categories while the elimination shows for the 1-on-1 and Krump battle will be on January 14, at the Gateway Hub.

Only eight contestants will vie for top honors in the individual categories.

Registration for the group competitions ended in December 31 as organizers had to double check legitimacy of enrolment forms and identification cards of students who registered for the event.

Registration for the individual contest will close on the morning of the eliminations date.

Criteria for the group contest will be based on performance (50 percent), creativity (10 percent), staging-spacing-formation and level changes (10 percent), showmanship-intensity-confidence-projection and presence (10 percent), stage presence-attire (10 percent) and entertainment value-audience appeal (10 percent).

Each group is given three minutes to perform with five seconds grace period as music pieces will also be screened to prevent lewd or foul languages.

Point deductions to violations will also be observed by the judges. Admission will be at P300. (Sharma Buteng)
