A WOMAN was arrested for possession of illegal drugs while visiting her imprisoned husband in a police station in the village of Culianan, Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, January 11.
Police Station 4 Chief Elmer Solon said the suspect, identified as Michilyn Asaral, 35, a resident of Camino Nuevo village, this city, was arrested around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday by the detailed station guard of Police Station 4 located in the village of Culianan.
Investigation showed the station guard became curious when Asaral acted suspiciously when subjected for inspection before she was granted access while visiting her husband, Al.
Solon said Asaral’s husband is confined at the lock-up cell of the police station for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He said a small-size heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, was discovered in a pouch of Asaral during the inspection.
Asaral was detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against her, Solon said. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
